"Pain Is Part of Growing" original acrylic painting from the "Interoception" Collection.

These paintings are a reflection of my experience with miscarriage in 2021 - intense pain and loss but also so much hope, love, strength and beauty. Each painting title reflects a different mantra I would tell myself when I started to give in to the negative noise before, during and after my miscarriage.

It’s been 4 years since my miscarriage, but when I was going through it, I felt very alone..until I realized that there was this big, secret club. A club no one wants to be a member of. I was angry no one told me they had an active membership. But this sad and painful club exists and the least I can do is to share my experience the best way I know how - through my art. I want others going through what I went through to feel loved, supported and connected rather than feeling alone, ashamed and broken.

Interoception is the sense that allows us to answer the question "How do I feel?" in any given moment. Interoception has a huge influence on many areas of our lives like self-regulation, mental health and social connection.
