3 Week Watercolor Workshop Series - Loose Floral Bouquet
-This is a 3 week course where we meet once a week for 2 hours, and work on a large watercolor painting from start to finish.
-This workshop series will help you master the elements of composition and dive a little bit deeper into creating a sense of movement throughout your painting by learning the power of negative space and color blocking.
-You will learn how to rise above your inner critic and allow yourself to trust the process.
Creating a painting can be scary, intimidating, and sometimes we just need a little push to get started. This workshop is intended to spark inspiration and bring a little color and joy into our busy lives.
WEEK 1 - Tuesday 7/7/20 6:00p-8:00p EDT
-Understanding composition - Learn how to create a small sketch to reference while we paint on our larger piece of watercolor paper.
-Create an initial loose floral bouquet outline on a big piece of watercolor paper
-Learn how to block out large shapes, colors, and blank space to create a sense of movement throughout the painting.
WEEK 2 - Tuesday 7/14/20 6:00-8:00p
-Add base colors to flowers, leaves, and stems
-Start to add slight definition, detail, shape, and movement to the painting
WEEK 3 - Tuesday 7/21/20 6:00-8:00p
-Add final watercolor layers, lines, highlights
-Show and tell! Light discussion/feedback session about the painting process, final thoughts, questions, get to know our classmates a little better, and be proud of the work we created together!
-11x14 or larger watercolor paper (we will use 2 pieces of watercolor paper, but it’s always a good idea to have extra paper just in case)
-Watercolors (whatever you have will work just fine, if you need watercolor suggestions email me - firstname.lastname@example.org)
-Pencil + eraser (this is optional, but if you have a Type A personality, definitely go ahead and grab your pencil and eraser!)
-Painters tape (optional - this is used to tape your watercolor paper down)
-Watercolor brushes (I recommend round brushes sizes 2, 4, and 6)
*If you have a larger brush - size 10 or bigger, go ahead and grab that too. If you don’t have a larger brush, no worries!
-If you are 21+ pour yourself a cocktail, glass of wine, or a beer because you deserve it!
*Please note - I record my workshops for those who cannot attend the workshop live. If you would like a recording of the class, please write in the notes section when you check out that you would like a workshop recording.
